We founded White Label in May 2007 to give average internet users the ability to create their own social network for any niche idea they could come up with.

About Our Company

White Label offers the latest social networking features such as video, audio, photo, groups, profiles, and more. The White Label Network makes this possible using our completely redesigned "code igniter" framework implementation of our portal software. Our new platform allows portal and community creators a seem less way to add community to their existing web site. If you have the time and the inclination, you can build them yourself, but we have done it for you.

Why Did We Build the Network?

We started White Label with to bring the combination of video, communication, and widgets to the community. We stumbled upon a way to create dynamic portals and began coming up with ideas to bring community to everything. We hope our users will create portals for everything from alumni sites to fantasy football league sites.

What does White Label Mean?

A white label product or service is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they made it.

The name derives from the image of a white label on the packaging which can be filled in with the marketer's trade dress. Its origins can be traced back to vinyl records and how DJ's would remove the label from a popular record of theirs so other jocks wouldn't be able to know who made the track. Doing this would create what was known as a white label record.

Some web sites use white labels to enable a successful brand to offer a service without having to invest in creating the technology and infrastructure itself. For instance until recently, the web site of Waterstone's was run by Amazon.co.uk and the DVD Rental services of Tesco are run by LOVEFiLM.
